Summary (6.36)
Due to US legislation to prevent credit-card companies from collecting payments for bets, CD Poker has determined to suspend all their real money gaming business with US residents.
CD Poker is one of the poker rooms in the iPoker network initiative (along with Titan Poker and Poker Ocean) by PlayTech. The software comes in eight languages: English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish. Games are still somewhat loose with lots of casino players and new recruits. There are often some very high-value promotions which continuously draw players to the site.
CD Poker and the iPoker network have been successful in quickly building a strong network with the strategic backing from the world's second largest casino software provider. CD Poker's software has good-looking interface and nice graphics. Games that are offered include Hold'em, Omaha and Seven-Card Stud (Hi and Hi-Lo games for Omaha, but only Hi for Seven-Card Stud) ring games, as well as heads-up, sit-and-go and multi-table tournaments.
Ring games have 2,000-2,200 players at peak hours, and tournaments have 7,000-9,000.
Ring Game Traffic (7)
CD Poker and the iPoker network have about 2,000-2,200 ring game players at peak hours, where almost all of the traffic is at no-limit and fixed limit Texas Holdem.
Game variety (8)
CD Poker has good game variety with Texas Hold'em, Omaha Hi-Lo, Omaha Hi and Seven-Card Stud, which are available in both Limit and Pot-Limit and Texas Hold'em in No-Limit as well. Seven-Card Stud is only available in Hi version. Table stakes are from $0.5/$1 to $30/$60 in the fixed games, with $0.10/$0.20 up to $50/$100 in Pot-Limit and Limit games, while No-Limit and Pot-Limit Hold'em is offered up to $10/$20 blinds. There are both heads-up, sit-and-go and fixed schedule multi-table tournaments.
Soft competition (9)
CD Poker has rather soft games. Most of the volume is in the No-Limit Texas Hold'em games where the view flop percentage is normally in the 40s or 50s, but players will sometimes be able to find a full table with pre-flop percentages all the way in the 60s. The players are also quite passive, so it is quite easy to be a winning player. The potential for the iPoker network to build soft games is very good as they recruit from the PlayTech online casino base and with aggressive marketing.
Loyalty bonus (2)
There is a point system (CD points), whereby players get entered into special free rolls and can get high value re-load bonus offers. For each played hand (getting dealt cards) in a raked pot a player earns 1-4 CD points depending on table limits. $0.25/$0.50 blinds give 1 point, $0.50/$1 blinds give 2 points and $1/$2 blinds and up give 4 points.
Support (6)

Software & Graphics (6)
CD Poker's software and player base is part of the iPoker network, which in turn is developed by PlayTech. The software comes in eight languages: English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish. The graphics are nice and clear and the functionality is good. CD Poker has a buddy list function, game history function, player notes, several audio options, Pot- and No-Limit ring games, live floor managers and all types of tournaments.
There has been an update made and the software is now much more playable. A live help window pops up when you enter the cashier section offering you special bonuses. The games run smoother and slower than standard (ironic since the software is quite fast) due to the long time a player has to make a decision. Traffic has been growing very quickly on the iPoker network, and today the player base is quite large for a newer network. It is possible to play at eight tables simultaneously.
Tournament traffic (7)
The traffic at the tournaments is higher than at cash games. Real-money traffic has reached somewhere around 7,000-9,000 players at peak hours. Sit-and-go tournaments are heavily promoted with jackpot offers when you win or place second in five to six consecutive tournaments. Depending on what type sit-and-go it is, there is potential for $2,000-$50,000 in extra cash.
Rake (6)
The rake at CD Poker is a bit lower than the average online poker room. The general policy is the standard 5% rake taken in increments up to $3. But on several types of tables there are lower maximum rakes. On fixed limit tables up to $1/$2 there is a $1 maximum rake. More importantly all tables with 2-3 players have a maximum rake of $1 and tables with 4-5 players have a $2 maximum rake - which also includes no-limit and pot-limit short handed games! There is a "no flop - no drop" policy for hands not reaching the flop.
Sign up bonus (6)
Bonuses are paid in $10 increments (or Euro or GBP if that is the chosen currency) and are paid out on a daily basis. (Standard promotion is 50% deposit match up to $200 bonus.) There is a 90 day time limit to reach the required points/hands. For each played hand (getting dealt cards) in a raked pot a player earns 1-4 CD points depending on table limits. $0.25/$0.50 blinds give 1 point, $0.50/$1 blinds give 2 points and $1/$2 blinds and up give 4 points. 1000 points will give $10 bonus. Hence, in order to clear a full maximum bonus of $600 you need to have earned 600,000 CDPoints.
Promotions (5)
All in all, the iPoker network has lots of High value promotions.
Pick your WPT Win one of 4 satellites and you can compete in the WPT even of your choice. ($12,000 prize package)
Friday 2K match $2000 freeroll to be held for new players.
CD Poker also offers great sit-n-go tournaments where you can win up to $1 million. There are also high hand and bad beat prizes. Refer-a-friend promo earns you $50 per qualified friend (250 raked hands) and the friend gets an extra $50 as well.
Financial security (8)
CD Poker is secure, as this room is operated by Club Dice Casino and is also part of iPoker, which is backed by the renowned casino software developer and operator PlayTech.
