Summary (7.00)
Due to US legislation to prevent credit-card companies from collecting payments for bets, Everest Poker has determined to suspend all their real money gaming business with US residents.
Everest Poker is a fresh and truly multilingual poker room that has plenty of growth potential even from its already very decent player base. Its software comes in all major poker languages and includes French, Japanese, German, Italian, Portuguese, Norwegian, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Spanish, as well as the most common variations. All in all, 16 languages are supported.
The software itself is of very fine quality and runs smoothly; it is popular among many players. Currently the only game available is Texas Hold'em. The traffic has skyrocketed since the opening of the site and now lands in the top 10 of all poker sites. Everest Poker is one of few sites that actually has profited from the U.S. online gambling ban and seems to attract new players every minute.
Player volume clocked in at 2,000-2,800 ring-game players during peak hours and 5,000-9,000 tournament players during peak hours.
Ring Game Traffic (7)
Everest Poker is a fresh room and thus has lower player traffic than the biggest sites so far. However, the site is growing rapidly even after the U.S. online gambling ban, and player volume has quickly reached very respectable numbers. The games are concentrated to low- and medium-limit Texas Hold'em. At peak hours, there are 2,000-2,800 real money players.
Game variety (6)
As of now, the only game accessible is Texas Hold'em, which is available in both ring games (Pot-Limit, No-Limit, Limit, and Heads-Up) and tournaments. There are plans for Omaha and Seven-Card Stud that probably will be implemented soon.
Soft competition (7)
Mostly low stakes games with very soft competition. Viewed flop percentages are mostly in the 40-ties and 50-ties but over 60% in some cases!
Loyalty bonus (5)
Everest has a very rewarding Summit Point System. For every dollar in rake Everest gives everyone at the table one summit point. Everest poker offers a "Refer-a-Friend" bonus of $50 to the referrer. .
Support (8)
The support is quick, knowledgeable and available in a number of languages. It can only be reached via e-mail.
Deposit & withdrawal options (8)
Does not accept US Accounts!
Deposit Options: NETeller, Visa, MasterCard, bank draft and ECO (French, Spanish, German, and Greek), and 1PAY. There are lots of alternatives for European players.
Withdrawal Options: NETeller, bank transfer.
Software & Graphics (8)
The software at Everest Poker is quite unique and runs relatively smoothly. There are several special features such as choosing your preferred language and a nice statistic function on your play. The design and software are pleasant, the avatars are good looking and there is a special option that allows you to rotate the table so that you can position your player in front of you. The lobby contains good information, including percentage of players seeing the flop, hands played per hour, and average pot. It is possible to play at four tables simultaneously. The software is updated regularly to ensure safety and reliability.
Tournament traffic (7)
Tournament traffic mostly consists of free roll players. Everest Poker has been offering WSOP and WPT satellites and is expected to do so in the future as well, this might help to increase tournament traffic in the near future. Currently, the room boasts tournament traffic of 5,000-9,000 real money players during peak hours.
Rake (6)
Better than industry standard. Rake is 4% up to a maximum of $3, as compared to the usual 5% up to a maximum of around $3-$5. No Rake on all pots that are less than 3x the big blind. No rake on any hands that end before the flop ("No Flop - No Drop"). No rake on un-called wagers. No rake on Fixed Limit Micro-Stake games (such as $.02/$.04 stakes. There is a 2-seat tables rake cap of maximum rake per hand $1. Based on those exclusions, the Everest Poker will take a flat 4.0% rake only on pots which are at least 3 times the big blind in real money hands which have seen the flop.
Sign up bonus (8)
The bonus is released by real money play. It is possible to convert this bonus without a deposit, if a player wins money in free-rolls. But it is not recommended. On the downside the requirements are pretty strict since only US$1 in bonus is converted for every US$100 in qualified wagers.
Promotions (6)
The number and value of promotions are pretty much in par with the industry standard. Everest Poker has not yet had any re-load bonuses but there are quite a few decent free rolls for beginning players. It is possible to make the roll over from a play money player to a real money player by only participating in free roll tournaments (mainly single table tournaments) without depositing any real money (though this will take a lot of time and dedication).
Financial security (10)
Everest Poker is a fairly new room on the market but with a professional approach and no recorded problems.
