Summary (6.20)
Due to US legislation to prevent credit-card companies from collecting payments for bets, Fair Poker has determined to suspend all their real money gaming business with US residents.
Fair Poker is a relatively new poker room in the iPoker network initiative by PlayTech. The software comes in eight languages: English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish. Games are still somewhat loose with lots of casino players and new recruits. There are often some very high-value promotions, which continuously draw players to the site.
Fair Poker and the iPoker network have been successful in quickly building a strong network, with the strategic backing from the world's second largest casino software provider. Fair Poker's software has an innovative and good-looking interface, with colorful and attractive graphics. The functionality is good, and the early minor glitches in the software have since been fixed. Games that are offered include Hold'em, Omaha and Seven-Card Stud (Hi and Hi-Lo games for Omaha, but only Hi for Seven-Card Stud) ring games, as well as heads-up, sit-and-go and multi-table tournaments. Ring games have 2,000-2,200 players at peak hours, and tournaments have 7,000-9,000.
Ring Game Traffic (7)
Fair Poker and the iPoker network have decent traffic in their ring games, with approximately 2,000-2,200 real money players during peak hours.
Game variety (6)
Fair Poker has good game variety with Texas Hold'em, Omaha Hi-Lo, Omaha Hi and Seven-Card Stud, which are available in both Limit and Pot-limit. Texas Hold'em is available in No-Limit as well. Seven-Card Stud is only available in the Hi version. Table stakes are from $0.5/$1 to $30/$60 in the fixed games, with $0.10/$0.20 up to $50/$100 in Limit games, while No-limit and Pot-limit Hold'em is offered up to $10/$20 blinds. There are both heads-up, sit-and-go and fixed schedule multi-table tournaments.
Soft competition (8)
Fair Poker has rather soft games. Most volume is in the No-Limit Texas Hold'em games where the view flop percentage is normally in the 40s or 50s but players will sometimes be able to find a full table with pre flop percentages all the way in the 60s. The competition is also quite passive, so it is fairly easy to be a winning player. The potential for the iPoker network to build soft games is very good as they recruit from the PlayTech online casino base and with aggressive marketing.
Loyalty bonus (4)
Fair Poker uses a system called "Fair Poker Coins". You earn coins by participating in raked real money ring games (rake taken refers to the rake generated at a table in a ring game by all the players during that hand, and not by any individual player) and for tournament play ($1 in fee awards 20 coins for a "Silver member".). You must earn coins to redeem bonus $ and also the coins can be used for entry to special promotions and tournaments. By earning coins a player can reach three different VIP-levels (Silver, Gold avg. 3,500 Coins/mth, or Platinum avg. 7,500 Coins/month). An interesting fact is that if you reach a higher level you earn points faster, for example, Gold level gets more points per raked hand than Silver and Platinum more than Gold, the same is true for tournament fees where a Platinum player recieves 30 coins per $1 fee as compared to 20-25 coins for Silver or Gold players. VIP level 1 (Silver level) earns 1 Coin for $0.25-$0.50 in rake, 2 Coins for $0.51-$1.00, 4 Coins for $1.01-$1.50, 6 Coins for $1.51-$2.00, 8 Coins for $2.01-$3.00.

Software & Graphics (7)
Fair Poker's software and player base is part of the iPoker network, which in turn is developed by PlayTech. The software comes in eight languages: English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish. The graphics are nice and clear and the functionality is good. Fair Poker has a buddy list function, game history function, player notes, several options for sound, Pot- and No-Limit ring games, live floor managers and all types of tournaments.
There has been an update made and the software is now much more playable. A live help window pops up when you enter the cashier section offering you special bonuses. The games run smoother and slower than standard due to the long time a player has to make a decision (ironically, since the software is quite fast). Traffic has been growing very fast on the iPoker network and today the player base is quite large for a newer network. It is possible to play at eight tables simultaneously.
Tournament traffic (7)
The traffic at the tournaments is higher than at cash games. Real-money traffic has reached somewhere around 7,000-9,000 players at peak hours. Sit-and-go tournaments are heavily promoted with jackpot offers when you win or place second in five to six consecutive tournaments. Depending on what type of sit-and-go you're in, that could result in$2,000-$50,000 in extra cash.
Rake (5)
There is no rake on the micro limit tables, and they start raking the pots on $0.25/$0.50 tables and over. They follow a "no flop, no drop" policy, and they rake $0.05 from every dollar up to a maximum of $3. This is a bit higher than industry standards at the lower limits, where the rake is generally capped at $1 or $2.
Sign up bonus (6)
You need to earn 500 Coins per $10 bonus. Coins are awarded to players for each hand in which they participate, as long as the hand is raked, no matter whether the player contributed to the pot by placing a blind or a bet, or whether the player folded. There is no posted time limit to reach the required hands. VIP level 1 (Silver level, see Loyalty bonus) earns 1 Coin for $0.25-$0.50 in rake, 2 Coins for $0.51-$1.00 rake, 4 Coins for $1.01-$1.50 rake, 6 Coins for $1.51-$2.00 rake, 8 Coins for $2.01-$3.00 rake. 25,000 Coins are required to clear the entire $500 bonus (3,125 raked hands at maximum rake as compared to 25,000 raked hands at micro limits). Note: A "Platinum" player receives up to 11 Coins per raked hand.

Reload Bonus - 50% (monthly)
Refer-a-Friend Bonus - this is a brand new bonus - $50 for the referrer and $25 for the friend Fair Poker hosts daily freerolls and many guaranteed prize pool tournaments. The most notable type of promotion are the "jackpot sit and go tournaments" where players get big jackpots for winning several consecutive tournaments. For example, Fair Poker offers a $25,000 prize for every player who wins six consecutive 'Sit' N' Go' tournaments.
Financial security (7)
Fair Poker is part of the IOG group, which has a very solid reputation. Still, as a brand new room without any history in dealing with customers we give just a good score.
